For women who admitted to gluing their "lover's" penis to his stomach were sentenced to probation Tuesday in a Calument County, WI courtroom. Therese Ziemann, 48, of Menasha; Michelle Belliveau, 43, of Neenah; Wendy Sewell, 44, of Kaukauna; and 31-year-old Tracy Hood-Davis of Fond du Lac were all sentenced to a year on probation after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct charges. Ziemann was also convicted of battery in the incident. Judge Donald Poppy heard the women's pleas and meted out punishments in separate hearings. The defendants also have to serve out community service.
Prosecutors say Ziemann lured Donessa Davis, 37, Hood-Davis' husband, to a Stockbridge motel on July 30. After tying him to the bed under the pretense of sex, Ziemann called the other women to the room. The women berated him before Ziemann struck him and glued his penis to his body.
Belliveau was the lone defendant of the four who didn't have a sexual relationship with Davis.
The case garnered attention from media outlets around the world. Belliveau's attorney, Ralph Sczygelski, criticized the coverage, saying it was driven by "sex, sex, sex in the media." The defendants and their lawyers said the events in the motel room went beyond anything they had planned.
Ziemann said she was angry because her minor daughter's number was in Davis' cell phone and that the penis gluing was a spur of the momnet action. "I just wish that this never happened. It's taken a toll on everybody involved," she said to Judge Poppy. Sewell's attorney, Nila Robinson, stated that her client "wanted him to see her face and see how much pain he caused her,"
In closing, Judge Poppy berated Hood-Davis, stating the women whose husbands cheat on them tend to handle their business in divorce court, not by messing with members. "They don't set things in motion so people get all messed up with glue."

Berea, KY man sentenced to 31 years in prison for rape, attack on estranged wife
On May 28, Jessie Brian Conner, 29, of Berea, KY, was sentenced to 31 years in prison for the rape and assault on his then estranged wife. After the verdict, police officers and detectives ejected Conner from the courtroom after he said "I hope you're happy" to the prosecutors and victim.
The rape occured last October 30, after the victim got off of work and took their daughter to kindergarten. Conner was hiding in the victim's home and suprised her in a closet. The perp listened as the victim called her brother, then his roommate. He checked the cell phone numbers, convinced that she was having sex with other men. Then the violence began.
He hit her behind the left ear and batted her head with his hands as if it were a basketball, she said, and then hit her with the butt of a .22 caliber rifle he had brought to the house.“He hit me on the head until the gun broke,” she said.When the stock separated from the rifle, she said he yelled, “You stupid bitch, you made me break my fucking gun on your fucking head.”
After the physical assault, Conner had his victim take off her clothes, when he raped her vaginally and anally. He also thretened a murder-suicide if she screamed, saying “One shot and you’re dead. Two shots and I’m dead.”
Then Conner fired bullets past his victim which landed in their daughter's bedroom, bulletts which passed through a pillow before lodging in the wall. After he did this, he tied the victim up to their daughter's bed, where he raped her again. “He said he was going to tie me up, so he could get away.”
Under questioning by [defense attorney Eric] Ashley, Conner’s ex-wife said their earlier sex life had included anal intercourse but never bondage.The blows to her head caused severe pain, dizziness and nausea, she testified.
“I was still screaming, begging him to leave,” she said. “He threatened to tape my mouth with duct tape so I couldn’t scream.” In response to her pleas, she said Conner eventually allowed her to leave and seek medical attention, but she had to promise to tell emergency-room personnel her injuries were caused by a fall in the shower.
“I had to get my hair wet before he would let me leave,” she said. Conner forced her to drive him to his truck which was hidden behind a Glades Road convenience store, she said.
Instead of driving immediately to the hospital, she said she drove to her brother’s home to ask him to take her to the hospital and then to get her daughter. She said she feared Conner, who had destroyed her cell phone, would retrieve their daughter from school.She was examined at St. Joseph Hospital-Berea, which summoned Berea Police.
Jury deliberations took over 2 1/2 hours. Recommended sentences were 20 years each for the rape and sodomy charges, 10 years for burglary, and 5 years for assault. The verdict form handed to Circuit Judge William G. Clouse stated that the total sentence would be 31 years. Conner was previously convicted of misdemeanor theft, DUI, and and a federal conviction for conspiracy to possess oxycodone with the intent to distribute.
The verdict came after an emotional morning during which Ashley called several members of Conner’s family, including his mother, to testify.Conner’s mother was at times choked by tears as she described how Conner, her only son, had suffered from drug addiction in the years following his father’s death, and pleaded with the jury to show mercy toward her son.
In his closing statement, Ashley had asked the jury for the minimum sentence, focusing on Conner’s young children and the effect a long sentence would have on his relationship with them.“You’ve heard some emotional testimony today about what Jessie Brian Conner means to his family,” Ashley said.
Judge Clouse has to decide which parts of the sentences will be served concurrently and consecutively to arrive at 31 years. Conner must serve 85% of the rape and sodomy charges and 20% of the assault and burglary charges before parole eligibility.

Chicago man convicted of honeymoon attack on bride in NW Indiana hotel
A Chicago man was convicted of physically assaulting his wife on their honeymoon, but was acquitted of molesting and raping her in a Lake County, IN court yesterday. Jose Cuevas Jr, 35, was convicted of aggravated battery and simple battery in the May 23, 2008 attack at a Days Inn hotel where he was staying with his bride, Marbelin Jeronimo.
The attack occurred after Jeronimo refused to perform a specific sex act on her husband. Cuevas threw the victim around the room, and held her under the water in a hot tub. Jeronimo's face was swollen shut and flesh was bitten off of her arm, according to police.
During closing arguments, defense attorney Bruce Parent said his client ran into the hallway at the Day's Inn on East 83rd Avenue, naked and bleeding from bite marks on his arms and said his wife tried to kill him on May 23.
Parent said the nature of his client's injuries fits with his testimony and is inconsistent with that of the victim, who suffered severe facial injuries, including broken bones, and several bite marks and bruises.
Parent also told jurors that the bride had been the aggressor in the argument and was abusing Cuevas' genitals. Prosecutor Michelle Jatkiewicz stated that Cuevas' testimony that his 127 pound victim could have held him under the hot tub with one hand was inconsistent with the lack of injuries he sustained after the arrest. Cuevas faces 20 years (10 with good behavior) when he is sentenced March 16.

Man charged with vehicular assault, DUI after wife falls off of car in argument
Diamond Mircea, 29, was charged with vehicular assault in the first degree and felony DUI during his arraignment Monday in First District Court in Central Islip after his wife Monica feel off the top of his car after an argument 12:30 Sunday morning.
Monica, his wife, was left near their Islip Terrace, NY apartment in a pool of blood, and she is still in critical condition at a local hospital. Monica, 25 climbed on top of the car to try and get her husband to stop, and slammed her head on the pavement after faling off the roof.
Monica Mircea was taken by ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was in the intensive care unit yesterday. [Robert] DelCol, [Mircea’s lawyer] said her condition was critical.
Mircea is being held on $50,000 bond and was issued a protection order at the request of Monica’s family, who cheered. The family is also taking care of the couple’s 4 year old son. His next court appearance will be August 5.

Woman sentenced to 5 years for "lover" who never called back after sex
A New York college student who branded a former lover's body with a scalding piece of metal as payback for never calling her after they had sex was sentenced to five years in prison Friday.
Kristina Caban, 23, had no comment as state Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus sentenced her for what he called a crime that was "not remotely justifiable."
Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg told Obus that Caban was the "mastermind behind the plan" to sear the torso of Samir "Sammy" Sara, then 23, for having sex with her once in 2004 and never calling her again.
Caban enlisted new boyfriend Robert Testagrossa to help brand a four-inch-high "R" on Sara's abdomen in October 2006, the prosecutor said. She said Caban lured the former lover to a hotel room, where Testagrossa and another man grabbed him.
Blumberg said the men used a Taser to immobilize Sara in a room at the Chelsea Inn while Caban laughed at his distress and kicked him while he was down.
The branding "iron" was actually a length of metal wire fashioned into a "R" -- heated, and applied to Sara's torso, said Tracy Golden of the Manhattan district attorney's office. She said prosecutors did not know what the "R" stood for.
Caban and Testagrossa, 27, pleaded guilty to assault in August 2007 in exchange for five-year sentences. Testagrossa was sentenced in February and Caban, a photography student, was allowed to graduate from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan before going to prison.
Blumberg said the third assailant remains at large. He said Sara will have a permanent, tragic memento of his encounter with Caban.
Caban's lawyer, James Friedman said, "She's a good kid, despite the picture painted of her, who exercised poor judgment and got herself into a bad situation. She is not the monster the prosecution made her out to be."
Caban's father, Rafael Caban, 55, is a retired Correction Department captain.
Testagrossa is the son of two prosecutors. His father Charles is the executive assistant district attorney in Queens who prosecuted the Sean Bell police shooting case. His mother is a lawyer in the Nassau County district attorney's office.

Upstate NY man indicted on charges of rape, animal cruelty
A Malone, NY man has been indicted on numerous charges regarding the rape, assault, and theft from a Franklin County, NY woman.
Harold E. McCloud III, 28, of State Route 30 was charged with first-degree rape, three counts of second-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree grand larceny, second-degree identity theft, third-degree unlawful possession of a person's identification information, six counts of third-degree assault, two counts of petit larceny, two counts of second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing and overdriving, torturing and injuring animals.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges and is expected to reappear in court March 25.
According to court papers obtained from the District Attorney's Office, McCloud reportedly had sexual intercourse with the woman against her will in mid-July and strangled her until she was nearly unconscious.
McCloud is also accused of stealing her debit card at different times in June, July and August and using her account number and personal-identification number to withdraw more than $500 at her bank.
The indictment also includes several charges from July 3, where he allegedly threw a coffee table and a plastic paint sample at her, shoved her into a wall, threw a glass lamp shade that hit her in the mouth and prevented her from leaving her home.
McCloud also allegedly picked up a broken piece of glass that day and held it to her wrist, "telling her he would kill her," the indictment states.
The same day, McCloud is accused of hurting the woman's dog by kicking it into an entertainment center.
McCloud also allegedly burned her with a lighter, stole her digital camera, and hit her. An order of protection was filed on the woman's behalf.
